The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) for Special Education at the Monroe County Intermediate School District (MCISD) would like to offer information nights during the 2016-2017 school year.  Parents, family members, and others supporting students with special needs would be invited to attend these events.  Your input is needed to help determine which sessions would be offered.  Registration for sessions would happen at a later date.
DIRECTIONS:  Please read the session titles and descriptions below.  You will be asked to select UP TO TWO (2) sessions of most interest to you.

Fall Fun Night of Fitness
  • A night of health and fitness for students with disabilities.

  • Developing healthy habits for students with disabilities.

Pre-K to K Transition
  • What to expect as your child transitions from preschool to kindergarten.

  • How you can promote success for your child.

Parent Panel
  • Submit questions to an experienced parent panel.

  • Panel members are parents who have a child/children with a disability.
Middle School and High School Issues
  • Tackle issues such as sexuality and social media safety with practical tips and guidance.
Alternatives to Guardianship
  • Discover what lies ahead for your child with a disability as he/she reaches the age of majority.  

  • Explore alternatives to guardianship for your young adult.
